Honda might re-launch its Hybrid car, Honda Civic Hybrid, in India. There are speculations that the union government will cut down the import duty on Hybrid cars or similar environment friendly vehicles. Honda was not able to continue its sale of Civic Hybrid because of the very high import duty that has been imposed by the government. Honda had to pay an import duty of 104 per cent to bring the Completely Built Units (CBU) of Civic Hybrid to India. This, combined with the VAT and excise duty, made Civic Hybrid a financially heavy vehicle.

Hyderabad: The outer ring road in Hyderabad has become the costliest road in the country. The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) is spending around Rs 42.37 crore per km if expenditure on civil works and land acquisition are taken into consideration. The HMDA will spend Rs 6,696 crore for the completion of the 158-km stretch by 2012. It is all set to spend around Rs 30 crore per km on civil works for the completion of phase-IIB which will cover a distance of 71 km between patencheru and pedda Amberpet . The average cost of for national highway is Rs 6 to 8 crore per km.
